PRESIDENTIAL MESSAGE
Most of us have had our share of dark and pain-filled moments in life.
And if you are like me, you can vividly remember receiving a card, e-mail, or visit during those dark times or simply having someone stop long enough to listen, to put a hand on your shoulder and pray for you.
It was as if God had reached down and touched you in your time of need.
Also if you are like me, you hope that all who are hurting would receive caring touches like that during such times.
We Care staff chaplain Wilma Mullet shares of someone who is being changed by God’s grace.
In prison for shooting her adulterous and abusive husband, “Mary” was always looking for love.
A year ago she met the Love of Jesus in a personal way.
Though a babe in Christ, Mary recently wrote, “My body is locked up, but my heart and mind are free with Jesus.”
Through your involvement, prayers, and generosity, We Care chaplains like Wilma are visiting prisoners like Mary and doing the very things I mentioned above.
We invite you to join us in bringing the “God of all comfort” to troubled men and women in prison.
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ." (2 Corinthians 1:3-5).
Sincerely,
David R. Landis
